The Symantec NetBackup 5230 Appliance Release 2.6: Support Training course is designed for NetBackup support personnel tasked with assisting customers in deploying, configuring, managing and monitoring the NetBackup Appliance.

This class covers the NetBackup 5230 hardware and the NetBackup version of the software and how to obtain and install updates to that software. This course goes on to explain the process of installing, maintaining and troubleshooting a Symantec NetBackup 5230 Appliance environment.
This class also covers data protection and disaster recovery, as well as ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to: 
Identify and describe each of the Symantec Appliance family models, software releases and the major features of each of those models 
List, identify and describe the installation concerns that must be considered when deploying a NetBackup 5230 as well as the installation types supported by the NetBackup 5230. 
Describe the process of installing a 5230 and Symantec Storage Shelf into a rack system as well as all data and communication cables. 
Identify the NetBackup 5230 Appliance Power On procedures and how to access and configure the BIOS options. 
Describe the process of performing a basic configuration of the 5230 Appliance using the Web UI and the restricted Shell and describe how to configure an Appliance in a firewalled environment. 
Describe the process of monitoring and managing the 5230 Appliance using RMM4 and the Restricted Shell (CLISH). 
Identify and configure the NetBackup 5230 CallHome settings. 
Identify and describe the commands that are available in the MegaRAID CLI utility. 
Configure, Monitor and Maintain Optimized Duplication and Auto Image Replication (AIR). 
Identify common Appliance hardware faults or failures and Manage Appliance Debug Logs. 
Describe the process of applying updates to the 5230 Appliance software and the effects and options of performing a FactoryReset or a Reimage and Decommissioning of a 5230 Appliance. 
Review Different Disaster Recovery Strategies.
